How To Find Beginning Guitar Lessons Easy Tips You Can Use To Improve Playing The Guitar

August and Everything After changed my life because at the time I was struggling to find out who I was. What did I want to do in life? I heard this album my freshman year in college. College forced you to decide your future. It's a hard question to ask a kid. I mean....we're kids! 18 years old and then they ask you what you want to do for the rest of our lives?! Some people knew at age 5 or 10, but I didn't know jack. All I remember is hearing those songs and wanting to be able to live those lyrics in my life. Be the music. Be the feeling.

A Great Musical Gift Idea: iPod Docking Stations

There is one album that is very special to me. It doesn't matter what it is. But whenever I play it on my pro audio equipment or on my home audio system it all comes back to me, feeling the love and desire while I first played one of the songs on my guitar for my first love, then the soft longing I had in her absence when we parted for the summer, the confidence that we would see each other again soon and resume our happiness.

The Power of One Album on a Home Audio System

There may be no better feeling than strapping on a set of wireless headphones. These units deliver high audio quality and superior sound results while affording the flexibility of being able to use them on the move. They offer an inner ear cup design that is auranomica and creates a comfortable fit, while being able to listen to up to 17 hours of music playback before needing to be recharged.

Rush A Hall of Fame Oversight

Greetings from Asheville, where good music is always found on the turntable, in the CD player, or in the MP3 player. Today's Classic Album Review remembers the album Shame On Me from Donna Fargo. Though she had been active in the music business since the 1960's, it wasn't until 1972 that Donna first hit paydirt, as "The Happiest Girl In The Whole U. S. A.", then "Funny Face" would top the Country charts, while climbing well up the Pop charts, also.

Donna Fargo Shame On Me A New Classic Album Review

Unbeknownst to many fans, Electro Reggae saturates the world's musical landscape. Even before Sly and Robbie coined the term "Electro Reggae" for their 1986 Taxi Gang LP release, they had begun experimenting with dissonant, electronic sounds. Random, computer-generated blips and electric percussion permeated the Black Uhuru albums the duo produced. A year earlier they would claim Reggae's first Grammy on the heels of such innovation.

The Cure Trilogy

To become a hip hop artist you must learn how to make rap beats. Without this skill you'll have a hard time convincing your manager, record label as well as possible fans that you are a rap artist. Hip hop began in the Bronx in NYC in the 70's. With the aid of the African American and Latino communities, rap has developed from being street music to boom-box time to a multimillion dollar music industry. Rap is taking over the pop charts with new hip hop talents. This piece of writing will provide valuable information on rap and also teach you how to produce your own hip hop beats.

Hip Hop Artist Discover How To Create Hip Hop Beats

Given that everyone like listening to hip hop music, it is just logical for hip hop lovers to know how to dance like their favorite hip hop artist. Hip hop artist are well-known to choreograph modern-day dance moves. Hip-hop is actually a cultural movement, well-known for its impact on music as the musical genre of the same name. Hip hop music got going in the Bronx, in New York City, during the seventies, mostly among African Americans, with a few influence from the Latin American population of the area as well. The hip hop culture has gone from being a relatively underground style to being a main style throughout the world, and it has been commercialized and popularized, especially in the United States. The 4 standard pillars of hip-hop are: rapping, DJing, graffiti art and breakdancing. Five extra pillars are at times added: beatboxing, hip-hop slang, hip-hop fashion, street entrepreneurship and street knowledge.

In the wake of the unintended (?) leak of Madonna‘s new song Give Me All Your Love yesterday, today we learn that her Madgesty is featured on the cover and in the pages of the new issue of Harper’s Bazaar magazine. Maddy is not promoting her new music in this new issue, instead she is [...]

Last night was a very quiet night for me … I ended up passing out and falling asleep much earlier than I’d like to divulge here … but tonight promises to be much more exciting. My friend Jen and I are going to the Music Box in Hollywood, CA to see M83 LIVE in concert! M83 recently released a new album titled Hurry Up, We’re Dreaming and it has quickly become one of my fave albums of the year. I am VERY excited to hear tracks from the disc performed live tonight.

It’s rare that I love every single song off an album but M83‘s Dreaming is deffo one of those albums. I’m a new fan of the band but I hoping that tonight’s concert will cement my love for them. Unfortunately, I have tix to see The Bangles live in concert at the House of Blues tonight as well but, obvs, I cannot attend both shows at the same time :( I love The Bangles very much but I’ve seen them before … tonight, I’m spending my time with M83.

I hope your hump day is going well … Happy Wednesday!!

Alright, well, if we can't have The Muppets, the most legendary man to ever host will have to do.

Billy Crystal has just announced via his Twitter that he will be hosting the Oscars this year. The news is on the heels of Eddie Murphy quitting the show after Brett Ratner was fired ... blah, blah, blah.

Billy posted for all the world to see:

"Am doing the Oscars so the young woman in the pharmacy will stop asking my name when I pick up my prescriptions. Looking forward to the show"

So is everyone else! You are the best, Billy. There is no question about that. And while we're bummed about The Muppets, we know you'll bring the a classy brand of entertainment that you are so well known for.

Regis Philbins Final Live With Regis Kelly show (Videos)

It is the end of an era. Regis Philbin had is final episode of Live ‘With Regis & Kelly’today, sigh. In front of a star studded audience morning show staple Regis bid his final farewell to TV, for now. Some big names in attendance included Katie Couric, The Donald and of course Kathie Lee Gifford and her hubby Frank, just to name a few. You can’t have a good-bye show for Philbin without Kathie Lee there. He has been on a morning TV show for 28 years which is freaking awesome. The show was a little bit retirement party and a little bit of a roast chalked full of surprises, smiles and tears. Reg certainly made some great memories on that show. There were a number of heartfelt speeches made in honor the of the man of the hour. His current host of the show Kelly Ripa gave a speech that will literally put her in tears and you can see that below. Then there was ABC CEO Robert Iger who informed Regis that a plaque honoring him would be placed on the side of the building ABC building where he worked for so many years. Not to be out [...]

Arts and Entertainment:Music from EzineArticles.com

Who said rap artists make mad loot? Incorrect! Because the fans expect their favorite artists to be crazy paid and living large, this sets an incredible amount of pressure on the artists to look rich. And it is not just the fans; the industry slobs have anticipated the performers to pick up the dinner check. There have been times people cop an attitude if the artist does not pay for everything. This is small minded and ignorant because the artist is usually the last to get paid. Everyone receives their cut first: the label, the manager, the attorney, the accountants, and, of course, the IRS.

How You Can Be One of the Truly Great Rap Artists

Most youngsters these days say they wish to be rap artists. As a product of the hip-hop generation and one who may have been inspired by rap songs for a few decades, a number of these teenagers are followers of the art form and its cultural impact. However, the rap game is not the opportunity that it once was for young Black artists and business owners. As a matter of fact, the music market is a sinking Titanic.

A Really Creative Way To Dispose of Old Drumkit Cymbals

When it comes to quotable endeavors rock and roll is not very high up on the list but oddly, a rock and roll movie, 1984's This Is Spinal Tap, is very much quoted. Probably the most quoted line is from a scene where Spinal Tap lead guitarist Nigel Tufnel (Christopher Guest) demonstrates to documentary film director Marty DeBergi (Rob Riener) how much more powerful his amplifier is than that of other bands. The volume control of amplifiers range from a setting of 0 to a high of ten but Nigel's custom amp has volume knobs that go to eleven.

And if not, step aside so we can enjoy him ourselves!!!

¡Feliz Día De Los Muertos, y’all! As some of you may recall, a couple of weeks ago David and I attended the Día De Los Muertos celebration at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery here in LA but today is the actual Day of the Dead. Each year, folks hold a traditional Día De Los Muertos celebration on Olvera Street in downtown LA (the oldest street in Los Angeles) and each year, I try to attend the celebration. Last night, David and I made our way out to Olvera St. to enjoy the parade, the prayers & blessings, the face painting and the camaraderie that comes with Day of the Dead. Last night was my third Day of the Dead fest on Olvera street and it was truly one of the best.

I am always in awe of this traditional celebration. I love that so many children are allowed to participate … it’s such a beautiful celebration. David and I always have a great time on Olvera St. and last night was no exception. It’s really something to see so many people come together for this ancient traditional celebration. I’m thinking that we may have to celebrate Día De Los Muertos next year in Mexico ;) Now that would be amazingly cool.

Tonight, Darion and I are getting together for a LONG overdue dinner hang out and then later on, I’m seeing Filter live in concert at The Viper Room. I hope your Hump Day is a good one. Happy Wednesday ;D

Maybe you've been to a small intimate place where people gather around the piano and sing, or maybe you've been to a rocking dueling piano bar which has more of the feel of a crazy rock show. Writing Music As Expressive Therapy

This violin is like no other you have ever seen or played before. I fell in love with it the moment I heard it being played by an excellent musician named Edward Howe, who incorporated it with a Boss Loop Station into his live set. Having fallen in love with it, I was rather surprised when I first played one that it felt uncomfortable and strange to hold. So what was the problem?

Dedicated To Jose Carreras

An article about one of the most popular arias in Verdi's opera "La Traviata" which I would like to dedicate to the Romanian soprano and friend of mine; Elena Georgian. "Di Provenza Il Mar, Il Suol" being a baritone's aria which was once even heard on the American sitcom "The Odd Couple" when Richard Fredericks performed it as a personal favor to both Felix and Oscar.
