Why You Need Good Rap Beats

Jim Morrison's voice was a firm stone of reality, like the rock of Gibraltar, in an era of overzealous peace and love. He was raw sexuality and unashamed of his unabashed masculinity. For over forty years The Doors have been dissected and written about. They have left a deep and beautiful wound on the history of music. It is hard to find the same telepathic nuance in a collective consciousness that they held as a group.

Learn the Features and Benefits of the Yamaha C 40 Guitar

I was very excited when I first started to use the Yamaha DD-65, mainly because I'm not a drummer. Before I hooked it to the hi-hat, I had to put it on a desk, and kick the pedals and it begun right away. You can choose to use sticks or your hand to hit the large pads and the natural response that will be gained will compulsively make you want to continue playing.

Improve Your Les Paul Guitar With These 2 Simple Tricks

It is a hard time to own an independent record store. Although real music lovers romanticize about the record store, finding and downloading music on the internet makes everything so easy. Small record stores stay alive due to a small group of music fans who want to experience something more. For any vinyl store to survive today, they cannot just sell records. Many stores will hold free concerts and events as well as sell additional items. For brick and mortar shops to compete against the digital field, they have to become more focused.

Considerations of Audio Production Schools

If you are called to an audition, expect only a handful of people to be present, and not a very large crowd. In addition to yourself and the casting director, the other people that matter, may be the director, a camera operator, if the audition is being taped, and perhaps a representative of the advertising agency, if the audition is for a commercial.

What Is Inside an Art Clay Kit?

Musicians are exceptional people with the capacity to make new inventions in the area of their act. It thus amounts to locking their creative power to insist that they must continue to play music that promoters consider prototypical. The industry is one that thrives only when there is unconditional freedom for people to unleash their imaginative wits.

The marriage between Charmed star Holly Marie Combs and her husband David Donoho is dunzo!

The actress filed divorce papers after 7 years of not-so-blissful marriage, citing irreconcilable differences. The two met while working on the set of Charmed. Sources say the relationship has been on the rocks for "quite a while."

They have three young children, which the couple has requested to share joint custody.

What's even more bad news for Holly is that the couple doesn't have a prenup. Since they met while he was working as a key grip and she was a star on a TV show, this could be a costly move for her. Here's hoping things remain civil.

Kathy Troccoli Songs Written By Chris Rice

The Cache Valley Cartel has come a long way from their humble beginning in Logan, Utah in December of 2009. The band formed under the direction of Kidd Kazmeo, who brought a talented, yet, inexperienced group of young musicians together with the express idea of turning the music industry on its ear. Kazmeo knew he could develop a music genre unlike any other by blending several styles into an entirely new genre.

How to Dress Up a Casual T Shirt

No amount of essay assistance can make up for a poorly conceived essay. However, there is little doubt that an essay of substance but with poor grammar can also be poorly received. Grammatical competence may not be the subject which a student is being examined upon but it can certainly influence the resulting marks by as much as ten percent. Lack of clarity in putting across the main points of an essay is one of the key reasons for this.

Rap Artists: A Dying Breed

Rap is really a type of music that stemmed from hip-hop tradition; thus a rap artists are anyone who has since mastered the craft of rapping. Hip hop is a way of life with its own language, clothing code, etc. In the words of KRS-One, "hip-hop is something you live, rap is something you do." Rap is a mix of poetry or poetic lyric, beats and their rhyming. The main topic of rap may vary from relationships to commercialism. Rappers prefer to make references to love, sex, violence, socio-political issues, crime, race and anything that describes their street life.

How To Find Beginning Guitar Lessons Easy Tips You Can Use To Improve Playing The Guitar

August and Everything After changed my life because at the time I was struggling to find out who I was. What did I want to do in life? I heard this album my freshman year in college. College forced you to decide your future. It's a hard question to ask a kid. I mean....we're kids! 18 years old and then they ask you what you want to do for the rest of our lives?! Some people knew at age 5 or 10, but I didn't know jack. All I remember is hearing those songs and wanting to be able to live those lyrics in my life. Be the music. Be the feeling.

A Great Musical Gift Idea: iPod Docking Stations

There is one album that is very special to me. It doesn't matter what it is. But whenever I play it on my pro audio equipment or on my home audio system it all comes back to me, feeling the love and desire while I first played one of the songs on my guitar for my first love, then the soft longing I had in her absence when we parted for the summer, the confidence that we would see each other again soon and resume our happiness.

Rush A Hall of Fame Oversight

Greetings from Asheville, where good music is always found on the turntable, in the CD player, or in the MP3 player. Today's Classic Album Review remembers the album Shame On Me from Donna Fargo. Though she had been active in the music business since the 1960's, it wasn't until 1972 that Donna first hit paydirt, as "The Happiest Girl In The Whole U. S. A.", then "Funny Face" would top the Country charts, while climbing well up the Pop charts, also.

Donna Fargo Shame On Me A New Classic Album Review

Unbeknownst to many fans, Electro Reggae saturates the world's musical landscape. Even before Sly and Robbie coined the term "Electro Reggae" for their 1986 Taxi Gang LP release, they had begun experimenting with dissonant, electronic sounds. Random, computer-generated blips and electric percussion permeated the Black Uhuru albums the duo produced. A year earlier they would claim Reggae's first Grammy on the heels of such innovation.

The Cure Trilogy

To become a hip hop artist you must learn how to make rap beats. Without this skill you'll have a hard time convincing your manager, record label as well as possible fans that you are a rap artist. Hip hop began in the Bronx in NYC in the 70's. With the aid of the African American and Latino communities, rap has developed from being street music to boom-box time to a multimillion dollar music industry. Rap is taking over the pop charts with new hip hop talents. This piece of writing will provide valuable information on rap and also teach you how to produce your own hip hop beats.

Hip Hop Artist Discover How To Create Hip Hop Beats

Given that everyone like listening to hip hop music, it is just logical for hip hop lovers to know how to dance like their favorite hip hop artist. Hip hop artist are well-known to choreograph modern-day dance moves. Hip-hop is actually a cultural movement, well-known for its impact on music as the musical genre of the same name. Hip hop music got going in the Bronx, in New York City, during the seventies, mostly among African Americans, with a few influence from the Latin American population of the area as well. The hip hop culture has gone from being a relatively underground style to being a main style throughout the world, and it has been commercialized and popularized, especially in the United States. The 4 standard pillars of hip-hop are: rapping, DJing, graffiti art and breakdancing. Five extra pillars are at times added: beatboxing, hip-hop slang, hip-hop fashion, street entrepreneurship and street knowledge.

Last night was a very quiet night for me … I ended up passing out and falling asleep much earlier than I’d like to divulge here … but tonight promises to be much more exciting. My friend Jen and I are going to the Music Box in Hollywood, CA to see M83 LIVE in concert! M83 recently released a new album titled Hurry Up, We’re Dreaming and it has quickly become one of my fave albums of the year. I am VERY excited to hear tracks from the disc performed live tonight.

It’s rare that I love every single song off an album but M83‘s Dreaming is deffo one of those albums. I’m a new fan of the band but I hoping that tonight’s concert will cement my love for them. Unfortunately, I have tix to see The Bangles live in concert at the House of Blues tonight as well but, obvs, I cannot attend both shows at the same time :( I love The Bangles very much but I’ve seen them before … tonight, I’m spending my time with M83.

I hope your hump day is going well … Happy Wednesday!!

Regis Philbins Final Live With Regis Kelly show (Videos)

It is the end of an era. Regis Philbin had is final episode of Live ‘With Regis & Kelly’today, sigh. In front of a star studded audience morning show staple Regis bid his final farewell to TV, for now. Some big names in attendance included Katie Couric, The Donald and of course Kathie Lee Gifford and her hubby Frank, just to name a few. You can’t have a good-bye show for Philbin without Kathie Lee there. He has been on a morning TV show for 28 years which is freaking awesome. The show was a little bit retirement party and a little bit of a roast chalked full of surprises, smiles and tears. Reg certainly made some great memories on that show. There were a number of heartfelt speeches made in honor the of the man of the hour. His current host of the show Kelly Ripa gave a speech that will literally put her in tears and you can see that below. Then there was ABC CEO Robert Iger who informed Regis that a plaque honoring him would be placed on the side of the building ABC building where he worked for so many years. Not to be out [...]

Arts and Entertainment:Music from EzineArticles.com

Who said rap artists make mad loot? Incorrect! Because the fans expect their favorite artists to be crazy paid and living large, this sets an incredible amount of pressure on the artists to look rich. And it is not just the fans; the industry slobs have anticipated the performers to pick up the dinner check. There have been times people cop an attitude if the artist does not pay for everything. This is small minded and ignorant because the artist is usually the last to get paid. Everyone receives their cut first: the label, the manager, the attorney, the accountants, and, of course, the IRS.

How You Can Be One of the Truly Great Rap Artists

Most youngsters these days say they wish to be rap artists. As a product of the hip-hop generation and one who may have been inspired by rap songs for a few decades, a number of these teenagers are followers of the art form and its cultural impact. However, the rap game is not the opportunity that it once was for young Black artists and business owners. As a matter of fact, the music market is a sinking Titanic.

A Really Creative Way To Dispose of Old Drumkit Cymbals

When it comes to quotable endeavors rock and roll is not very high up on the list but oddly, a rock and roll movie, 1984's This Is Spinal Tap, is very much quoted. Probably the most quoted line is from a scene where Spinal Tap lead guitarist Nigel Tufnel (Christopher Guest) demonstrates to documentary film director Marty DeBergi (Rob Riener) how much more powerful his amplifier is than that of other bands. The volume control of amplifiers range from a setting of 0 to a high of ten but Nigel's custom amp has volume knobs that go to eleven.

¡Feliz Día De Los Muertos, y’all! As some of you may recall, a couple of weeks ago David and I attended the Día De Los Muertos celebration at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery here in LA but today is the actual Day of the Dead. Each year, folks hold a traditional Día De Los Muertos celebration on Olvera Street in downtown LA (the oldest street in Los Angeles) and each year, I try to attend the celebration. Last night, David and I made our way out to Olvera St. to enjoy the parade, the prayers & blessings, the face painting and the camaraderie that comes with Day of the Dead. Last night was my third Day of the Dead fest on Olvera street and it was truly one of the best.

I am always in awe of this traditional celebration. I love that so many children are allowed to participate … it’s such a beautiful celebration. David and I always have a great time on Olvera St. and last night was no exception. It’s really something to see so many people come together for this ancient traditional celebration. I’m thinking that we may have to celebrate Día De Los Muertos next year in Mexico ;) Now that would be amazingly cool.

Tonight, Darion and I are getting together for a LONG overdue dinner hang out and then later on, I’m seeing Filter live in concert at The Viper Room. I hope your Hump Day is a good one. Happy Wednesday ;D

Glee Recap: Asian F Gets An A

Glee is back, baby, and in tonight’s episode we learned a bit more about some of those not so central characters – Mike Chang, Mercedes Jones and Emma Pillsbury. We begin the episode with Will finding Emma’s secret stash of wedding magazines, and while he’s okay with finding it, he’s not okay with the fact that he hasn’t even met her parents yet. Mike and his father, Mike Chang, Sr. are in Principal Figgin’s office, with the elder Mike concerned about his son because he got an A- on his chemistry test. OMG, an Asian F! His father thinks he should take a drug test and feels Glee Club and Tina are distractions to his academic future. Mercedes’ boyfriend Shane gives her the confidence she needs by telling her that she’s better than Rachel, and she auditions for the role of Maria, singing Jennifer Hudson’s ‘Spotlight’. We all know what amazing vocals she has and of course wowed the judges. Rachel looks on, and feels threatened by Mercedes’ audition. Artie, Emma and Coach Beiste can’t decide so they have both return for another audition, wanting them to sing ‘Out Here On My Own’. With Brittany running against Kurt for class [...]

As of now I've gone over several ways on how to start this, but I can't find anything which tops the fact that what is happening here is a rarity. What we are seeing has only been seen a handful of times in Hip Hop, and but a few handfuls of time in music altogether...well, few handfuls of the decent stuff. What I am talking about of course is a triple album; collections and anthologies not included.

Del Tha Funkee Homosapien Feature

In a time when Snoop has added bubblegum-pop and vocal house (heavy on the autotune) to his resume, and every second urban artist has joined forces with David Guetta, it's refreshing to see a long-standing superstar like Jill Scott stay true to her roots and continue to churn out heartfelt, down-to-earth neo-soul. The three-time Grammy Award winning singer-songwriter has released her forth studio album The Light of the Sun. Although four years since her previous release, Scott has had a consistently successful career spanning over a decade, primarily in music but also dabbling in film and television.

6 Top Goth Songs That Actually Made the Charts

The way you play the cello depends on the way you take the very first steps, from having the cello in your hands to learning how to make the perfect harmony of notes and sounds. The cello lessons for beginners are even more important than the advanced ones, because the student probably has no idea what to do and he needs the best teacher to guide him. However, finding the quality lessons can be quite a challenge and it can take some time, as well.

Cello Lessons for Beginners 3 Tips to Choose the Best Lessons

If you want to master any cello bowing technique, you must dedicate yourself completely and never stop practicing since the nuances are sometimes so small, that one little mistake can ruin the entire piece. The techniques related to the left and right hand are separated mostly because the left hand determines the note and the right one is related to bowing. Some bowing tactics are more used than the others, but it's important to know the difference and know how to use them.

We wonder if any of Denzel Washington's old professors would have guessed how much money he'd be putting back into their work.

The Oscar-winning actor recently donated $2.25 million to the theatre department at Fordham University.

$25,000 of the gift will go to a worthy undergraduate theatre student in the form of scholarship. The rest will be used to create the Denzel Washington Chair in Theatre.

Television and Broadway actress Phylicia Rashad has already filled the chair position! One of her duties includes teaching the class "Creating a Character."

When he gave the gift, Denzel stated:

I wanted to create the Denzel Washington Endowed Scholarship and Chair in Theatre at Fordham in order to offer the next generation of students positive influences. Phylicia Rashad, as the inaugural holder of the chair, will provide the care, compassion and that extra push to help take students where they’re meant to go.

Damn! Niice Denzel! We wish more would do something like this!

For many street rappers, finding a good rhyme comes naturally; unfortunately the beat behind it takes a bit more work. How Napster Altered The Music Business

Back in the day everyone had record players to listen to the latest teen idol on. You could have one with David Cassidy's face on the cover or perhaps you might like Andy Gibb. Now you can't get a record player with some teen idol's face on it, nor are they made to just listen to record albums on anymore. The record players now are made with such attention to clearness. Now record players are not made for the simple listener; they are made for DJ's in clubs. The synchronistic playing is the most important idea these days for the record player.

Classical Guitar Course on Alternate Picking

Hanging out and enjoying your records can often lead to a terrible mechanical misfortune. If someone has an aging record player it can be worrisome putting their beloved album under the needle. If it operates correctly without scratching and permanently damaging the record, maintaining the correct speed can be challenging as well. No one wants to worry about all of these problems when all they want to do is kick back with a beer and mellow out to the classic stunning guitar wail from their prized Jimi Hendrix vinyl collection.

What You Need When Selling Beats

It is at the start of the second act of Bizet's "Carmen" that we see Carmen and her band of gypsy contrabandists waiting around and apparently bored at doing nothing but sitting around. There being a feeling in the air of uneasiness and restlessness in those who simply find themselves with nothing to do as the music of "Les Tringles Des Sistres Tintaient" slowly and delicately commences. Silently almost, as if it does not wish to be heard.

William and Kate: Wedding of the Year Details!!

Prince William and Kate Middelton will marry in just a few short hours and it is all anyone can talk about! It is understandable, the couple is hosting the event of the decade! The big day is just around the corner, Kate Middleton will soon marry her Prince and an estimated 2 billion people from around the world will watch, while 1900 invited guests will be in the church. It is being called the wedding of the year, but it is so much more than that. It is the wedding of the decade! I have butterflies for Kate, so I can imagine how the future Princess feels. Speaking of Princess I bet you are wondering how the titles work and what will change once she officially marries into the Royal family. I know I was curious! Here is how it works: Once married, Kate will become Her Royal Highness Princess William of Wales, though the media will inaccurately shorten her title to Princess Catherine, a title that is legally reserved for Princesses of birth. Additionally, upon marriage, royal men receive a title as a gift, and it is expected that William will be named a Duke. According to The Daily [...]

3 Simple Steps to Tune an Electric Guitar

Characterized as having a strong and rhythmic understructure, solos, call-and-response patterns-the blues print of improvisation puts its stamp on the celebrated musical genre of jazz. A proud part of African-American culture, the history of jazz traces its roots back to the United States during the early part of the 20th century. Alas, after many jam sessions and much improvisation, jazz appreciation in the state of Rhode Island prevailed through the creation of the Newport Jazz Festival, held three days every August so residents and visitors alike can tune in to its inventive style, creative genius, and all that jazz.

With so many Effects Pedals out there, how is a musician to know what order they should be in when chaining them together? Eric Johnson and Jimi Hendrix used their wah-wah first in line. Carlos Santana puts a Tube Screamer before his wah-wah. Many artists bend the "rules" to get different sounds. There is no set "Rules" for chaining your effects pedals, but there are some known standard pedal set-up.

The definition has spread from its humble beginnings in the dances of Central and South America to include many of the sub genres that can be found in many US metropolitan cities.

David and I went to an early evening showing of X-Men: First Class, which opened in theaters yesterday, and for the most part we really looking forward to a great movie. What we got was an even better movie than either of us anticipated. Before yesterday, Thor was my fave superhero movie of the moment … but X-Men: First Class has absolutely become not only my fave superhero film of the year but probably my fave movie of the year (thus far) period. It’s really that good.

To be honest, I can’t even decide what makes the movie so good … the acting or the writing. X-Men: First Class is full of fantastic actors who truly become the roles they are playing. Never once did I think anyone was phoning it in or being disingenuous (not even January Jones who, as the chilly Emma Frost, may come off as lifeless but, IMHO, adds to the stoic character). Without question, the chemistry between James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender is SUPERB! There was so much emotion going back and forth between those two (as Charles Xavier and Erik Lensherr) that I have expected them to hug and/or kiss in almost every scene. Kevin Bacon, as the villainous Sebastian Shaw, was a real surprise. I’ve known that he can play evil very well … and that talent really shows well in this film. As for the writing, I mean, damn … they did a great job bringing the origins of the X-Men to life. Tying in actual historical events with comic book fiction is genius! Did you know the entire Cuban Missile Crisis was brought about by interference by rogue mutants? Well, in the 1960′s world of X-Men: First Class … they did! I was also very impressed with the origin stories of some of the X-Men. My only complaint is that I wish they had explained Raven Darkholme/Mystique‘s origins better than her just showing up one day. There are a couple of really fun cameos (that could be easily spoiled, so don’t go looking for them online if you want to be surprised). My biggest complaint about the film was the FX … some of the scenes looked really cheap. My guess is that the studio didn’t give the film a massive budget and corners had to be cut. Still, the acting and storytelling more than made up for the film’s shortcomings. I honestly loved everything about this film. As soon as it was over, I wanted to watch it all over again. Hands down, X-Men: First Class is the best X-Men movie ever made. It really has a good shot at being the best superhero film of the year. From start to finish, First Class is a fun ride. I really love, love, loved this movie.

Jennifer Lopez Hits Road With Hubby For New Show

Called ¡Q’Viva! The Chosen, Lopez’s new show will follow her and Marc Anthony around the Western Hemisphere as they search for international talent. Sounds big, doesn’t it? It’s one thing to show up at an arena and sift through hundreds of singers. It’s quite another to travel to over twenty different countries to find, as they put it, the “world’s most extraordinary talent.” That’s exactly what the celebrity couple plans to do, and it will all be broadcast in three different languages all across the Americas. This isn’t just an audition based show, either. Backed by Simon Fuller, they actually plan to literally show up in cities and towns and have the residents bring them to the most talented people around. Lopez says that will include trips to “clubs, bars, dance studios, underground dance halls and festivals” in the various locations they travel to. Once they are all rounded up, the best of the best will be brought back to California and polished up for a huge show. I’m not sure I’ve even heard of a television project with a loftier sounding premise. It is certainly a risk, but I think they can pull it off. They will have the [...]

Achieving appreciation of art materials is possible when you take the time to observe art that is already around you because this will help you understand your very own artistic interests and inclinations. It is easy to overlook art that surrounds us but to truly develop an interest in the subject; you must get into the habit of using your free time to study paintings that you may have hanging up at home or around the work place.

tupac is alive jk

We always knew that if Tupac was still alive, he'd end up in New Zealand. Ha!

Okay, so Tupac's not ACTUALLY alive, but some hackers cracked PBS' website yesterday morning and posted a fake story about the late rapper on the PBS NewsHour section of the site.

Apparently, the group of hackers called LulzSec were upset about a recent Frontline program about WikiLeaks, and put up the Tupac story to get back at PBS.

Here's what Frontline executive producer David Fanning had to say about the program in question:

"From our point of view, we just see it as a disappointing and irresponsible act, especially since we have been very open to publishing criticism of the film…and the film included other points of view. This kind of action is irresponsible and chilling."

Guess these hackers have REALLY strong feelings about WikiLeaks!

Do U think a fake Tupac story was a good way for this hacker group to get back at PBS for their Frontline program???

jennifer-lopez-ex-husband-allowed-to-release-footage.jpg

Jennifer Lopez is not going to be happy about this.

A judge has allowed her ex-husband Ojani Noa to release intimate home videos of her to the public.

Even though Jennifer's legal team had originally won a battle to keep the videos from being release, Ojani found a loophole to win in the end. By selling the footage to his current girlfriend, Claudia Vazquez, the judge ruled the confidentiality agreement that Ojani signed could not block this release.

Claudia is said to be "meeting with video distributors" next week to make a deal.

There haven't been specific details about what exactly is on those tapes, but Jennifer is fighting to keep them private so there's obviously something on there she doesn't want people to see.

Choosing Music for Your Event

When you want to build a great party playlist, you want to make sure that you use BPM to create "waves" of music that help excite and enchant your partiers. If you follow this advice, your partiers will slowly be building up their energy levels and depending on how many songs you have, and how long the party is, you'll end up with a super energized crowd by the end of the night, not wanting to go home and wanting to keep going and building more and more energy and fun.
